Travel Goals and Intentions for 2021 + 2022: Where Will You Go?
Normally, I set some resolutions for the new year because I am one of those strange individuals who loves them, makes them, and knows that most likely, I won’t keep them. However, this year feels different. 2020 showed me very sharply all of the things I took for granted, especially when it came to spending time with friends and family and traveling.
So instead of setting out to write down things like, “get in better shape,” “read more,” “eat healthier,” and the standard ongoing goals that I always have every year, I decided that this year would be different. This year, I would be not only writing out specific goals for travel, in hopes that the world returns to a slight sense of normal in the not-too-distant future, but also some intentions related to those goals and a few other checklists to work through, just because I love check-lists.
Here are some of my travel goals + intentions for this year:
✨Goals✨
*Visit a Sandals Resort (making up for the fact that our 10 year anniversary trip had to get postponed from last summer!)
*Visit Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort
*Visit Washington D.C.
*Visit New York City
*Visit Laurel, MS (huge Home Town fan over here...)
*Take a 3 or 4 night Disney cruise to the Bahamas
✨Intentions✨
*Put money aside monthly for travel
*Continue to seek out never-done-before adventures
*Not worry as much about things I can't control
*Get outside of my comfort zone more often (including foods and experiences!)
*Write daily in my gratitude journal
Taking a couples-only trip with my husband would be a dream. It’s hard for me to think about leaving our son for a few days, but we’ve only done a couples trip a few times before, and Sandals is calling our name with their warm beaches, all-inclusive offerings, and luxurious amenities. Additionally, I’ve never been to Washington D.C. before AND it’s within driving distance from me now! Here’s hoping that things open up safely in the summer, fall, or winter.
I also want to start thinking about 2022 and beyond, and put into action some planning for the future. We already have a trip booked with friends to Beaches Turks & Caicos at the end of 2022, but I also want to throw in another trip as well— maybe Japan + Korea, maybe a month in Spain, maybe two weeks in Hawaii? All I know is that I am ready for it!
What about you? What are some of your travel goals and intentions for this year?
Feel free to download this printable below, keep it someplace safe and handy, and think ahead towards your own upcoming travel plans. Just like John says in the Carousel of Progress ride at Magic Kingdom, “There’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day, there’s a great, big, beautiful tomorrow, and tomorrow is just a dream away!”
Let’s adventure together!
